On the 25th of September, the second NAPCORE Workshop on AFIR data took place. The event was organised in cooperation with the European Commission and with contributions from the EVRoaming Foundation, EAFO (FIER), DATEX II, SPILETT for H₂ data, POLIS, Schneider Electric, Google, Metegram, and ACE Europe.
During the workshop, a peak attendance of around 120 participants was registered, with numerous discussion points raised. This high attendance aligns with the results of the 1st workshop and demonstrates the ongoing need for these sessions. Considering the extensive amount of information shared during the workshop, the presented slides can be accessed HERE to facilitate follow-up review. Due to technical issues and enforced limitations to prevent the use of AI, a recording of this session could not be made.
The main talking points focused on the developments in FIER’s work on creating the Common European Access Point (CEAP) in compliance with AFIR. Over the summer period, 3 pilot connections between NAPs and CEAP were established with varying results, indicating that many valuable lessons are to be learned from this exercise and that further work is required by various partners to achieve the set goals. Data exchanges, particularly to NAPs, will be supported by EVRoaming’s announcement of the newly available NAP Extension in OCPI, which facilitates data delivery from original sources to NAPs via OCPI.
Appreciation is expressed to all participants for joining and actively contributing to the workshop, with special thanks extended to all the aforementioned presenting partners. Experience shows that sharing, listening, and understanding mutual challenges facilitates the creation of a high-quality, broadly usable data chain for alternative fuels. Consequently, the next workshop is planned for the beginning of 2027, with formal invitations to be issued in due course for this third edition.
In addition, a dedicated session on alternative fuels will be organised during the NAPCORE Mobility Days taking place on the 25th and 26th of November in Athens. Attendance at the Mobility Data Day is exclusively in-person. Further information is available on the NAPCORE website.
