Cooperation between NAPCORE and POLIS kickstarted

On Wednesday, 25th September 2024, NAPCORE and POLIS jointly organised a workshop to define topics and a roadmap for the future cooperation between them.

After insightful presentations given by Timo Hoffmann (BASt) on NAPCORE, Laura Babio (POLIS) on the POLIS network, Tiffany Vlemmings (DG MOVE) on the terms of data provision according to the Delegated Regulations of the ITS Directive (EU), Patricia Pumpler (AustriaTech) on the scope and the objectives of the cooperation agreement between NAPCORE and POLIS and the results and next steps of NAPCORE’s stakeholder engagement to accelerate provision of data on the NAPs, Bard de Vries (NDW) on how data exchange standards can support data provision in cities, Laura Babio (POLIS) and Gerard Van Dijck (CROW) on key aspects of the POLIS RTTI taskforce’s paper on digitising traffic circulation plans, the more than 50 workshop participants discussed priority topics for the future cooperation between NAPCORE and POLIS and drafted a roadmap for the collaboration process. The workshop was moderated by NAPCORE Deputy General Secretary Damaris Anna Gruber (AustriaTech).

Priority topics identified for an intensified collaboration between NAPCORE and POLIS include parking data, trainings on data exchange standards for cities, the coordination on RTTI-related issues and setting up focus groups to address the needs and requirements of cities regarding the provision of mobility data on the National Access Points.

We thank all participants for their contributions and look forward to further collaborating with POLIS on the efficient provision of mobility data in cities.

In the first workshop the Taskforce wants to proceed on this and tell you about what they collected so far and further explore together what is missing and finding the corresponding data types necessary for these use cases.
