NAPCORE Multimodal Domain and Community Management : Let's build a multimodal community together! |
Multimodal mobility brings together a wide range of actors, yet these stakeholders often work in parallel rather than as part of a unified community. This fragmentation makes it difficult to align efforts, share knowledge, and collectively develop effective solutions for multimodal mobility. Building a strong and collaborative community is therefore essential to foster cooperation, exchange expertise, and accelerate the development of interoperable and user-focused mobility solutions. In order to move forward towards the construction of this community, different domains/themes have been identified by NAPCORE partners as a basis for building a multimodal partners community. Each thematic team is responsible for building its related community, inviting this community to interact and contribute to NAPCORE, as well as to ensure good coordination of the topic within NAPCORE. Here are the different teams: |
- Rail Team - Lead : Marloes Verhoeven (NL)
- Air/Aviation Team - Lead : Aleš Jungmann (CZ)
- Passenger Public Transport, Waterborne/Navigation Team - Lead : David Ariño Montoya (ITxPT)
- Multimodal Routing Team - Lead : Marlene Picha (DE)
- Car-related services – Lead: open position
- Cycling & Walking Cross-domain Team (including micro-mobility - WG2/3) - Lead : Stephanie Kleine (DE)
- Parking Cross-domain Team (WG2/3) - Lead : Zuzana Švédová (CZ)

NAPCORE ROAD & TRAFFIC DOMAIN AND COMNUNITY MANAGEMENT: BUILDING A DURABLE DATA COMMUNITY TOGETHER! |
Within the Roads & Transport domain, NAPCORE and its partners are addressing data requirements, needs, and obligations across various themes. A roadmap and knowledge agenda are under development to clarify obligations under the ITS Directive and Delegated Regulations. These deliverables will provide Member States and NAP operators with essential guidance on data types, digitalisation obligations, quality requirements, and relevant stakeholders. They will help implementing bodies understand what data is needed for each theme, how and where it can be created or sourced, and the required geographical scope. Work is closely coordinated with related projects and organisations, including C-Roads, Data for Road Safety, the European Parking Association, and POLIS. The following Domain Themes have been set up: |
 |
- ITS Directive – Lead: Fabrizio Paoletti (IT)
- RTTI – Lead: Fabrizio Paoletti (IT)
- SRTI – Lead: Wolfgang Kernstock (AT)
- Urban – Lead: David Brunner (DE)
In addition, there are the Cross-Domain Themes Parking and Cycling & Walking (with WG 2) and dedicated Task Groups that deal with interactive traffic management and alternative fuels. Other Themes with currently vacant leads and/or to be started in the second half of 2026:
- C-ITS/CCAM
- Freight & Logistics
- Parking
- SSTP
- Road safety

The 🇩🇰 Danish NAP has launched a new eID feature that allows users to securely access the NAP using their national or European digital identity (eID). This is done to increase IT-safety and to make it possible for most European users to login much quicker than having to start by requesting a username and password. The eID feature is now available for all users of the Danish NAP and can be accessed through the login page.

In December 2025 the Estonian 🇪🇪 ITS-NAP service was integrated into the statewide Estonian Data Portal which provides an overview of the government held and other open data, its descriptions, and possibilities for reuse. It is Estonian single information access point that allows anyone interested in finding public and other open data.
The Estonian ITS-NAP acts as data catalogue, the data owner fills in the data records (mobilityDCAT-AP) and commits self-declaration before each dataset can be published. Data owner publishes the actual dataset in its own data services (API). The distributed data location model is achieved.
Estonian Transport Administration is the virtual operator of the ITS-NAP service. Estonian Data Portal is operated by the Estonian Information System Authority under the Ministry of Justice and Digital Affairs. In upcoming year, ITS data owners will join the ITS-NAP service with their data records as their datasets are ready for publication.

Join our webinar on 7 May 2026 delivered in partnership with POLIS for a practical introduction to the Network Timetable Exchange (NeTEx) standard. Listed in the MMTIS Delegated Regulation, NeTEx is the comprehensive EU standard for exchanging static public transport data, supporting everything from passenger information systems to multimodal travel information. This tutorial will explain the scope and purpose of NeTEx, showcase a real-world application by a city or region, and highlight tools and resources to support adoption, followed by a live Q&A. The session is particularly relevant for urban mobility and transport planners, public authorities, data and digitalisation teams, and policy officers who need to understand how data standards enable integrated planning, MaaS integration, and compliance with EU transport regulations.

|
Following the introductory session on NeTEx, this second webinar, on 11 June 2026, shifts the focus to real‑time public transport data with an accessible introduction to the Service Interface for Real‑Time Information (SIRI) standard, again in partnership with POLIS. Listed in the MMTIS Delegated Regulation, SIRI enables the exchange of dynamic data to support real-time passenger information, operational needs, and multimodal open data across services from buses to shared mobility. The tutorial will explain the scope and purpose of SIRI, present a practical city or regional use case, and highlight tools and resources to support adoption, closing with a live Q&A. Aimed at an audience with no to little previous experience, the session is ideal for planners, public authorities, data teams, and policy officers looking to complement static data standards like NeTEx with real-time information capabilities.
